Our Doctors

Steven P. Gander, O.D.

Dr. Gander specializes in children’s vision, contact lens services, and ocular disease diagnosis and treatment.

He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1987, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Steve made plans to pursue Optometry after a 10th grade report reminded him of his own positive experience of getting glasses. His hobbies include running marathons, camping, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and singing.

Bruce A. Storhaug, O.D.

Dr. Storhaug specializes in contact lenses as well as ocular diagnosis and treatment. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is especially good with children.

He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 1987, where he graduated with distinction.

Bruce became interested in the field after interviewing his optometrist for a 9th grade social studies assignment. His hobbies include water sports, golfing, camping, bicycling, and snow skiing.

Destin R. Coles, O.D.

Dr. Coles has a strong background in contact lenses as well as ocular diagnosis and treatment. He also specializes in PRI Vision Therapy. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages.

He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pacific University College of Optometry in 2001.

Destin joined the field because he wanted the opportunity to be able to listen to patients’ concerns and then specifically address their eye-related problems. His hobbies include gardening, golfing, hunting, and a variety of other sports.

Crookston Team Members

Our Crookston team is composed of a friendly receptionist, a knowledgable optication, and a skilled technician. They will help you schedule an appointment, pick out the perfect frames, and fit your lenses so you leave happy.

Reception Team – East Grand Forks

On the phone or at the front desk our receptionists greet you with a smile. They are the central hub of communication within our clinics. These team members manage the appointment schedules, organize the medical records, assist with patients’ insurance eligibility verification and maintain the patient recall system.

Optometric Technicians

From pre-testing to dispensing of contact lenses, our optometric technicians assist our doctors with many aspects of your eye health care. They perform medical testing such as visual field analysis, retinal photography, auto refraction, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scans. In addition, our optometric technicians assist our doctors with contact lens fittings, and they train patients to insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses.

Opticians and Lab Technicians

Because they understand both eyewear fashion and lens optics, our opticians will help you choose the best frames for your lifestyle and the most beneficial lenses for your specific prescription. They also specialize in fitting your eyewear.

In our onsite ophthalmic lens lab, our technicians are able to finish your lenses to fit your frames perfectly. This enables us to provide you with a faster and more accurate fabrication of your prescription eyewear.

Finance Team

Our finance team is here to help you with financially related questions. These team members file insurance claims, research insurance questions on behalf of patients, manage patient financial accounts and much more.
